The annual Sea & Sand Festival, Folly’s longest-running festival at 33 years, returns to Folly Beach with a weekend full of family-friendly events…From the Folly River Park straight to the beach, the Sea & Sand weekend will include an artisan street closure event and some healthy competition in the sand on Sunday.

Weekly all‑star jam with special guests. Music starts at 9:00 PM. No cover — free show. The Sunday Sessions Band leads the night with rotating guest musicians and a lively island atmosphere at The Bounty Bar.

A half-marathon and 5K to support the preservation of the Morris Island Lighthouse by Save The Light, a grassroots non-profit organization that formed in 2000 to save the Morris Island Lighthouse from being lost to the sea.

Center Street will be closed on “Savory Saturday” on Saturday, January 17, 2026, and taken over by Folly establishments to serve up their best dishes and exhibit their skills through live demonstrations. What’s an event without some competition? Taste will feature a variety of contests. All of this will be complemented by local bands, over 50+ Folly art, craft, and fashion vendors, and a robust kids’ area. Taste of Folly will have something for everyone!

Cocktail Competition:
The weekend will kick-off with the Cocktail Competition on Friday at the Tides in the Pavilion Ballroom from 6-8:30pm!  This battle of the bartenders will showcase the beach’s best mixologists making delicious craft cocktails!  An appetizer spread is included to keep everyone happy while trying all of the cocktails! Tickets are $45 ahead of time and $55 the day off! This event has limited ticketing and will likely sell out. All cocktails and appetizers are included in the ticket price!  

Cocktail Competition Entry Requirements:
You must be 21 years old to enter.

Join us on the beach for Folly’s annual New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show starting at 9pm. A spectacular, family-friendly show will light up the night sky!

Viewing is available from all along the beach and even throughout Center Street. Please remember to celebrate responsibly and to respect the beach and our wildlife by removing trash and anything else you bring with you.

Then, later in the evening, it’s the famous Folly Beach Flip-Flop Drop! Center Street will be closed to traffic as revelers enjoy local restaurants and family-friendly festivities.

At midnight, the huge, sparkly flip-flops will descend to mark the stroke of midnight and the beginning of the new year.

Join Bowen’s Island for a cozy coastal holiday market with beautiful views, local vendors, artists, food trucks, hot chocolate, crafts, and s’mores by the fire!

Join us on December 13 in Santa’s favorite beach town for The Annual City of Folly Beach Christmas Parade! Line up along Center Street as floats, marching bands, and community associations show their holiday spirit. Visitors and locals are all welcome. Join Santa at Folly River Park to receive goodies after the parade!
